Foot Print Introduction
Foot Print Introduction
Description: This footprint is a way to introduce yourself to the class. You will trace and cut out your footprint and add different types of media that describes yourself. The footprint needs to be neatly trimmed, all items carefully and securely attached to the backing, no stray marks, smudges, or glue stains. There needs to be a minimum of three different types of media used throughout the design, and your name clearly written and easy to read from a distance. The design should include overlapping elements incorporating a variety of sizes, colors, and symbols that represent yourself! The goal is to have fun and be creative!
Extension Activity: For an extension activity, we will be using this model in language arts to create a five paragraph essay. The students will use their footprint to categorize their items into three different categories and use that for the three body paragraphs in the essay. They will also have an introduction and conclusion. I would use this in the first quarter of the school year when we learn about the writing process of a five paragraph essay. The students would have the opportunity to talk about their footprint, what media they used, and then hang them up around the classroom.
