Just One More

Description: This lesson was taught my Mariah William. She started the lesson with a book titled "Just One More." The book was about a little girl who wanted just one more of a many different things. One of the things she wanted just one more of was a a scoop of ice cream. When she got another scoop the ice cream fell over. Mariah introduced the activity by showing us an example of what she made and showing up the material that was used for it. She taught us how to use print making material to create ice cream scoops to add to a cone. We had a math problem that was given us, and I had 2+1 so I had to make the amount of scoops as the sum of my math problem. One of the requirements was that we had to make one with Q-tip's and another using a stencil. After I created my 3 different prints, I let them dry before I cut them out to glue onto my ice cream cone. After I traced and cut out my ice cream, Mariah had a math worksheet for us to complete.

Extension Activity: The extension activity that I would use for this lesson is through a creative writing lesson. The students would use print making to create a scene of their choosing. I would teach about creative writing and then introduce the activity to the students. I would go over the material that you use and how to use the material. The students would create their scene through print making, and when they are done the students would complete their creative writing activity that goes along with it. Lastly, they would glue their story to the back of their art they created.
